Job Description:
*This position is eligible to work remotely
Maintain a comprehensive level of knowledge and is responsible for
the highest level of technical engineering, support, planning and
implementation of the following areas: including but not limited to
routing, switching, network security, network circuits, IP telephony
products and wireless technology. Travel to various locations is
required. On Call 24/7.
Key Result Areas:
- Plans, designs, engineers, constructs, and maintains all cisco
and Palo Alto network and telecommunication systems.
- Knowledge and experience with Internet Protocol suite including
protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF and their relationships and
integrations in large-scale networks.
- Knowledge and experience in VPN technologies
- Knowledge and experience in Palo Alto Firewall, IPS, etc.
technologies and administration.
- Knowledge and experience with VoIP protocols such as SIP/
- Knowledge and experience with Call Control, Voicemail, fax, voice
gateways, and Call Center technologies and operations.
- Develop and maintain system standards, technical documentation and
backups of network configurations and circuits including topologies.
- Research and recommend solutions, new innovations, automation,
efficient approaches for administrative tasks.
- Identify processes that leverage resources and economies of scale.
- Perform regular monitoring, verify integrity and availability of
hardware, systems including review of system logs and successful
backups of the network equipment.
- Perform regular security monitoring in partnership with the
Information Security Officer.
- Continual recommendation, implementation of system enhancements to
provide layered and ongoing improvements to our security and
security posture.
- Perform network planning, network design, and capacity planning
including network protection schemes, network synchronization, and
bandwidth utilization and availability.
- Perform regular performance reporting.
- Provide Tier 2 and 3 support to business operations.
- Investigate, analyze and troubleshoot issues for quick resolution.
Coordinate and communicate with impacted parties and management.
- Apply system patches, firmware upgrades on a regular ongoing basis
in a timely manner.
- Partner with Information Technology to maintain network and
telecommunications systems.
- Assist project teams and the project activities including
definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research,
recommend, develop, design, analyze technical solutions.
- Manage, maintain, design, monitor in disaster recovery center and planning.
- Responsible for upholding all credit union ethical standards.
- Represents the credit union in all ways in a courteous and
professional manner.
- Perform other essential duties and job functions as required or assigned.
